Breckenridge Lodging & Hospitality Plans $3.5 million+ of Improvements Two of Breckenridge's best-known properties, The Village at Breckenridge and Great Divide Lodge, will undergo over $3.5 million in renovations, while the finishing touches are completed on the expansion of Mountain Thunder Lodge. The Village at Breckenridge will see upgrades throughout the property, primarily in the Village Hotel. The 60 rooms in the hotel will be nearly transformed, with new bedding, furniture and window coverings. The garage at the hotel will also be renovated. The 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space in The Village's Liftside building will be refreshed, with new carpeting, seating and window coverings. Finally, the common areas of three Village Plaza condominium buildings will see improvements, thanks to the Village Homeowner's Association. The Association invested heavily in outdoor improvements during the summer of 2005, with extensive new landscaping, snowmelt and other infrastructure. Sister hotel, Great Divide Lodge, also continued renovations this spring that began in 2005. Last year, the Great Divide added two suites, while other rooms received new bedding and bathroom remodels. The indoor pool area was completely renovated. This spring, bedding and bathroom improvements in the guestrooms were completed. The restaurant, Breck's Lounge, will also be remodeled later in the year, along with various exterior improvements. At Mountain Thunder Lodge, completion of Mountain Thunder Town Homes is on track for late fall, with town homes available to the public beginning winter 2006. These are the newest and most exclusive accommodations in Breckenridge, featuring spacious floor plans, private garages and exceptional finishes. Mountain Thunder Lodge will offer ski-in access from Peak 8 for the entire season, via the Skyway Skiway opened in January 2006. The new gondola will also be just a short walk from the Lodge, making this secluded retreat one of the most centrally located properties in town. Breckenridge Lodging & Hospitality management expects to adjust construction schedules and locations as needed to ensure a trouble-free stay for guests. By winter 2006, guests are invited to experience anew their family of vacation and conference destinations. |
